Pattern Recognition at Woskob Family Gallery
Happy to have my print, "Snow Cone" featured in the show, "Pattern Recognition" at the Woskob Family Gallery at Penn State University in State College, PA
"Pattern Recognition draws inspiration from the pervasiveness of pattern in our world: from our brains to our clothes, from the movements of the tides to those of machines, the repetition of units — pixels, threads, neurons or otherwise — pattern is an organizing factor that underlies much of daily life."
The show will be on display from January 19 until March 3, 2017.
Sense of Place at Elmhurst Art Museum
Three of my egg tempera paintings from Dawn of a New Day have been selected for the exhibition, Sense of Place at Elmhurst Art Museum in Elmhurst, IL. The exhibition will be on display December 10, 2016 through February 12, 2017.
The exhibition was curated by Frank Tumino, Curatorial Chair of the Elmhurst Artists' Guild; Carrie Secrist, owner of Carrie Secrist Gallery in Chicago; and Jenny Gibbs, Executive Director at Elmhurst Art Museum. 38 artists were selected out of 400 submissions for this particular exhibition. I feel fortunate to be included with some great artists.

This exhibition includes artists who scrutinize the land and the environment, as it currently is, and possible unanticipated reformations, adjustments, alternations and realignments of the land and environment. Of interest within this theme is by what means or methods artists interpret those alterations to our environment.
Precious Solo Show
March 14 - April 14, 2013
McLanahan Gallery, Penn State Altoona, Altoona, PA
Paintings, drawings, and collages from my recent series Precious will be on display in the McLanahan Gallery. Precious deals with a persistent fascination I have had with open pit mines. Huge amounts of earth are moved, making craters so large they can be seen from space to obtain precious metals and gemstones for industrial as well as personal use. Many times once these mines are exhausted, the hole remains as a permanent scar on the land, and if proper remediation is not done, this scar sometimes can become more toxic than the actual mining that created it (i.e. Berkeley Pit).
